Expedition is pleased to welcome Omilia, with its industry leading conversational AI platform for enterprise contact centres, to our portfolio of rapidly growing European software companies.

Omilia has built a market leading automated customer-care platform, driving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency for the contact centre operations of enterprise customers. Omilia offers better than human semantic accuracy and intent recognition for a wide variety of customer needs, delighting customers and freeing agents to resolve the most complex queries in a timely fashion.

Founded in 2002 by CEO and Chief Architect Dimitris Vassos, Omilia has built and improved its offering over two decades in complex field. Today the company is at the forefront of the burgeoning conversational intelligence market. Omilia is transforming automated voice-based customer care from an experience that causes universal frustration and contact centre inefficiency, to one that can deliver immediately responsive, accurate, human-like interactions at massive scale.

Having trained its models on billions of hours of use-case-specific call volumes, Omilia proudly serves customers across healthcare, banking, travel and telecom in 21 languages and dialects.

Omilia is seeing increasing recognition in the market amongst partners and industry analysts alike, with the company recently being named as a ‘Leader’ in both Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for ‘Enterprise Conversational AI  Platforms’, and in IDC’s MarketScape for Conversational AI Platforms.

Having been run as a profitable, bootstrapped business since inception, Omilia raised $20m of growth capital in 2020. Oliver Thomas, Managing Partner at Expedition Growth Capital, led this investment during his time at Grafton Capital, and has been working closely with the founders as a board director since.

Expedition is delighted to join Grafton as a shareholder and to support the Company’s continued growth and innovation in this valuable global category.
